The teen hit “The Summer I Turned Pretty” goes into a 2nd season on Amazon Prime Video. The finale of the series left us with some open questions. We have summarized them for you.

Amazon Prime Video offers its young viewers the new coming-of-age series highlight “The Summer I Turned Pretty” since this month. Now all fans of the series can rejoice, because the streaming service has already given the teen series a sequel.

This comes as no surprise, because at the end of the first season there are still some storylines open. We have listed five of the most burning questions for you below.

1. Will Belly choose Jeremiah or Conrad?

During her vacation, young Isabel “Belly” Conklin develops feelings for the sons of her host Susannah Fisher. Over the course of the summer, she has to choose between Conrad and Jeremiah, because the brothers are also attracted to the teenager.

At the end of season 1 “The Summer I Turned Pretty”, however, we as viewers are left a bit perplexed. Belly wanted to let go of Conrad and start something new with his younger brother Jeremiah, but he let Belly sit on the ball again. Fittingly, Conrad quickly stepped in and took over for his brother and managed to win the young woman back for himself.

The season finale finally ended with a soulful kiss between Conrad and Belly. The problem here, however, is that Belly has not ended the relationship with Jeremiah before, which is why the tricky love triangle between Belly and the brothers will probably continue in the new season.

2. Will Susannah resume cancer treatment?

At the beginning of the series, we learn that Susannah’s cancer has returned and that Conrad and Jeremiah’s mother would rather enjoy one last beautiful summer with her children instead of a new treatment. Even though she initially hides her condition from her sons, Jeremiah eventually finds out the truth.

In the ensuing confrontational conversation, the brothers then plead with their sick mother to start a new therapy. In the finale, Susannah finally announces that she will go back to treatment. In the upcoming season, we’ll find out if she’ll keep her promise and if Susannah’s health is improving.

3. Can Steven still make it to his dream university?

Belly’s brother Steven also had some ups and downs to master in the first season of “The Summer I Turned Pretty”. Above all, the young man was accepted in Princeton, but he lacks the necessary money for the university of his dreams.

Although he can save a large part of his job over the summer, Steven then puts everything on one card and gambles away his hard-saved money at poker. Can Steven still get the money he needs in Season 2 and study at Princeton?

4. Will Steven and Shayla remain a couple after the summer?

In addition, Steven has a richly eventful love life over the summer. At the beginning of the season, he starts an affair with Shayla, which quickly becomes more serious. But then Steven cheats on Shayla with Belly’s best friend Taylor. Although Shayla learns of Steven’s affair, she forgives him as soon as Steven confesses his love to her.

In addition, Steven’s financial situation puts the relationship of the two to a hard test. On the one hand, Shayla prefers luxurious dates, on the other hand, Steven could almost not accompany his girlfriend to the debutante ball, as his suit does not correspond to Shayla’s expensive taste. Will the couple meet their mutual demands in the future or will they part ways again?

5. Is there a future for Cleveland and Laurel?

Most recently, Susannah’s best friend Laurel has also found a new love in the author Cleveland. Even if the divorced mother initially has no interest in the newcomer, a hot romance finally unfolds between the two.

However, laurel does not want to emotionally engage in a new relationship due to Susannah’s condition, so she decides not to accompany Cleveland to the literature festival. Can Laurel and Cleveland revive the relationship in Season 2 or will Laurel finally decide on her best friend?
